Just like to warn you guys that it would seem that techinferno has now started to used end users computers to mine crypto currency.

Just went on myself to check for some info and watched my CPU spike to 100% with the system lagging, even down to GPU driver crashing so i closed the tab it went back to normal, i then went and viewed the source for the index page.

Low and behold what i found.

    So please be careful.

Admins if this is not allowed then please delete its just a heads up to everyone that might decide to go to a site that is really using shady tactics without warning end users.

I have replaced the https with **** as so not to increase there crypto mining.

Update: So after telling them about the crypto i have had a response.

They have also updated the TOS and is forcing users now to agree to the new one. Sorry techinferno i am not signing that one at all.

    Update2 :
So i guess they didn't like being caught out then!

I honestly think that is a scummy thing to do, misusing your users to get bitcoin mining going, so honestly its good for people, since most users here are also on techinferno.

Report to google and AV companies

    That's malware behaviour

As if ripping off Nando and Prema wasn't enough cancer, now they go do this. Assuming its not them getting hacked (which almost certainly will be their excuse when busted but whether they act when notified will be the litmus test)

Might just do that after looking up legality of forced crypto mining without owner consent.

Could someone else also confirm the same happens to theme just in case please.

Edit: Do you think this spells it out nicely to them.

Just tried going on there myself. It seems Malwarebytes is able to block coinhive.com. I'm definitely going to keep running that with the increase in this kind of scummy behaviour from websites lately.

@Arrrrbol thanks for confirming it. Will now report the site to google and AV's, just had to make sure it wasn't me infected with some hijack crap to begin with.

To be honest I wouldn't mind this as much if the websites were open and honest about doing it. But when they try to hide it with no announcements that really gets on my tits. An option to disable the software would be nice too.
