The Corolla definitely isn't as fun to drive as some of its counterparts. Steering feel is very poor and unpredictable. Interior is also horribly outdated compared to its counterparts.

Actually, I kind of like the Yaris. It's kind of like an old school car and it's a two door, which I prefer. I looked at it, but you can only get the manual on the base car, which means no cruise control and I need cruise.

I'll say the Corolla makes a great work car for me. Sure, there is no "zing", but at least I can kick the crap out of it and it still runs.

True but there are other options that are just as reliable yet offer more character and higher quality fit and finish.

This I agree with, but you know when you say the word Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla, the first few words that come to mind, reliability, fuel economy, and recently boring and bland. Unfortunately around here, even the new Civic is selling like hotcakes just because it is a Civic, not because it actually is a good car.

Yup, I also see plenty of new Civics and Corollas around here. Also, the new Jetta is popular too, awful interior and all.

The 2005-2006 Corolla XRS was a pretty fun car to drive. That's all I have.
