Hey I thought the OP said "new" music:). I saw Huey last summer in Watertown NY - great show, he's still got it. Some of "The News" is still original although Chris Hayes (guitarist) was replaced by Steph Burns, who in my opinion is much better live. Huey also sang and played harmonica on Umphrey's last album for the song "Beer, Wine & Women", which he co-wrote with the band. I got some good pics of my friends and me with Huey after the show, complete with the signature "eyebrows-up" Huey expression.

Anyway, back on topic. For some older bands I would suggest:

    Frank Zappa (of course)
    King Crimson
    Steely Dan
    Genesis
    Allman Brothers Band
    Phish
    Talking Heads
    CSNY
    Jethro Tull

Just got a couple of tracks just yesterday. Dont know if they new or old. I just heard them so they new to me.

This Conversation is Over - Alesana
(couple songs from I dont remember) - Anberlin
Error Operator - Taking Back Sunday
    Cute without the 'E' - ''

Couple of my favorite tracks of all time:

    In pieces - Linkin Park
    Trembling - Yellow Card
    Breathing - Yellow Card
    It's Not a Fashion Statement, It's a Deathwish - My Chemical Romance
    Helena - ''

    Pretty mainstream stuff me thinks.

The band I'm currently into right now is Hell is For Heroes. Here's a sample,

    <object width='320' height='265'><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/v3TnkmFrtMA&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/v3TnkmFrtMA&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width='320' height='265'></embed></object>

I'm not into mainstream bands, but here are a few more...
