The SB1 is pretty durable as well. Sure you can't repair it as easy as a thinkpad, but it's hard to break in the first place. Also he needs the tablet function.

Yes thats exactly why. Outside Light Room (which is why I want a pen system, that and Photoshop) I also just watch movies and browse the web and i like 3:2 screens.

Im not going back to Mac, everyone Ive owned has disolved around me.

So the issues with SB1, what are they? Are we just talking the Intel issues it had at the start? (which arent MS faults).

A SP3 is about $600 here but I can get a SB1 for $1000. Is it a better buy than they Surface Pro 3? Strangely the SP4 sells for more than the SB1 here.

When I can afford it I would love a SB2 with gtx1050, but right now I have a gaming machine.

Between the SB1 and SP3, Its just a matter of what size and priority of things like keyboard. If you type alot, get the SB, the keyboard on the surface pro is meh. If you are mobile alot get the pro. I do miss my surface for travelling. but I LOVE my dell 2 in 1 for everything else. and i am willing to put up with the extra size while travelling since in planes I can put it in tent and have lots of room.

I would go for the SB over the Macbook. It would drive me insane if I did not have the pen input abilities, unless you carry around your pad/pen with you everywhere. No one deserves that amount of frustration.

This is why Im buying a Note 5, its like a mouse. And the Note 8 i hate its aspect ratio and poor rigidity (glass either side).

Is the dGPU a must have if your not a high end video guy and just use lightroom picture by picture?

they have dropped in price again, i think they are close to selling out of the original 2015 model.

The MBP13 doesnt have a GPU or quad core and hasnt for a decade, yet its called pro, i think with the pen at least it makes Light Room easy.

People so hard on MS yet Apple make shoddy products, staingate, magsafe freying, thermal fans dying and use really low tech hardware.

Whats wrong with me paying $900 for a non dGPU dual core machine that lasts hours and hours?
