When getting emails from watched threads, the link has https:// and clicking on it brings a Timed Out error. This is both in Firefox, and Chrome.

Once the Timed Out error page loads, and I can see the full URL, I simply remove the 's' to http:// and the page loads just fine.

However it takes way too long to load the https:// Timed Out error to be useful to use the links in the watched threads emails.

This just started happening late last week.

Noticed this too. Also for most of saturday afternoon->night, i was getting timeout errors trying to access the site at all (aka, even any http url). I figured the site was temporarily down/undergoing maintenance. Ended up finally working for me later yesterday. Ofc prolly unrelated but was weird...

The Notebookreview site was down today, but the issue is still there after it came back up. Just started last week out of the blue...

At first i thought it was last night/early am today and then i decided i was off by a day so changed before i hit submit...guess i was off by a day after all...bleh blurry latenight work weekends just melt together!

Well at least now i know it wasnt just me ^^

I guess there should be a simple fix for the email notification link? Notebookreview can direct the link url to http no s?

Well, I hope that suggests that NBR is working on adding https support, I know they've been planning to for a while.

Right now over http our login's show passwords in clear text which can be monitored on open Wifi's or ethernet networks... very much a security risk.

I make sure to use a completely unique password and use 2 factor login - which is the next best thing until https starts working here.

That's it. Sometime between 5 AM and 11 AM Pacific Time on Friday the 26th, the links in the emails for watched threads switched from http:// to https://

    https:// still won't load.

Same here. Happened to me yesterday night at around 22.00-01.00hrs, NBR forums was down for me.
At first disabled HTTPS everywhere solved it then it didn't work at all.

This should be resolved now ...if you get emails going forward they should have HTTP links. But not for long ...

I've been informed we will be going HTTPS in February - I know a lot of you have been asking, and that request has gone through. That will affect all the TechnologyGuide forums, including Brighthand/TabletPCReview.
