Hi, When i tried to listen an audio file or video file whether from Hard Disk or from Online Stream. The sound gets hang in between or in intervals with a modem buzz sound. Please help me out what to do and how to fix it in my HP 4530 Probook.

    Million Thanks in advance.

Symptoms: system (audio) freeze/hangs for a few hundred ms or seconds.
Machines affected: various HP notebooks i.e. HP ProBook 4330s with the latest BIOS version F.20.

    Issue description:
This is a software issue related to the latest version of HP Power Assistant application (2.1.0.6).
To observe it visually you can use DPC Latency Checker software diagnostic tool: one or two red bars in series above spec.

    Solutions:
Unfortunately this time changing CPU mask (affinity) to just one CPU core does not help, so I suggest to:

    1) Kill HPPA_Main.exe process in Windows Task Manager each time you log on into Windows 7 or just stop/disable HP Power Assistant service (check services.msc). You can also remove it from the Windows autostart tray (check msconfig.exe).
    2) Uninstall HP Power Assistant 2.1.0.6 version and use Windows 7 power scheme.
    3) Uninstall HP Power Assistant 2.1.0.6 and install previous version i.e. 2.0.6.0 or 2.0.5.1.

I recommend third solution because default custom HP power scheme called "HP Optimized" seems to be more efficient - better battery life / less Watts consumed.

To confirm solution please check results in DPC Latency Checker - you should notice only green bars within spec.

I also suggest to uncheck this update as an automatic download/update in HP Support Assistant tool until HP release fix.
HP R&D team was informed about this issue.

Lessons learned: if your system works flawlessly do not update drivers!

Yes, I know that it works :]

Santa Claus loves to listen his favourite Frank Sinatra Christmas Collection on HP ProBook 4330s. He asked me to analyze this problem and find solution/workaround. So we have...

hi i have the same problem. I uninstalled the hp power assistant but the problem is still there. I also have a new problem where my screen keeps refreshing. I dont know how to explain but for example if i am writing something it pauses for a second and then starts writing again or if im checking a scroll bar it keeps on closing it after every second. I really dont know what the issue is and its pretty annoying. If anyone can help plz?
