Nvidia Control Panel says the display is G-SYNC capable.

I want 32 or even 64 GB RAM, so will need to kick out both 8GB modules.
I believe "the need" for identical modules "for proper dual channel configuration" is a myth.
My 8 years old W520 is running 4x 8GB, total 32GB RAM, sad this OMEN has only 2 slots.

I understand about the memory now, well in the USA store I see the option for 2 x 16 GB Sticks of DDR4 for a total of 32 GB DDR4 RAM. But remember this is a gaming laptop and anything above 16 GB is overkill and not used by videogames, 32 GB is the max they will offer, I think only large Desktop Replacements like MSI GT 76 Titan, Alienware Area 51M or Asus RoG G703 Chimera offer 4 slots of RAM.

Thank for the info on the G-Sync capabilities, so it says capable and you actually set it up! Seems great weird they don't advertise this premium feature at all in their website. Do you notice screen tearing in-game while playing with it enabled? Also just to confirm no Nvidia Optimus, can use enable FastSync?

One last favour, can you use HardwareInfo or some similar tool to find the display's brand, model and number? Just want confirmation on it being the superb ChiMei CMN175D IPS screen!

Thanks in advance for all the info you're providing, the HPstore and Omen Website don't offer any in-depth details. Their feature page about the new Omen 15/17T still says "coming soon" but they are already being sold since June, weird.

For Vertical sync there are options: Off, On, Fast.

The LCD panel is AUO82ED ... is this good or bad

    Hi there,
Do you actually have the 17T with this Panel? I have been trying to find out how to order this panel from Alibaba/express or other sites from China. If you do have it, does HWiNFO mentions a different name besides CMN175D?
    Thanks

Thanks again deniale, it's an excellent panel, AUOptronics were the first to offer a good 144hz IPS display panel since late 2017, G-Sync certified since day one!
    http://m.panelook.com/B156HAN08.2_AUO_15.6_LCM_overview_35018.html

Before I found out about the ChiMei CMN175D panel it was the best laptop gaming display panel out there! For example It's been used on all premium Asus RoG gaming laptops of 2018 and 2019, most of 2018's MSI gaming laptops use it too as it has good 9ms average response times. MSI's 2019 lineup majoritarily uses ChiMei panels now and not a single one is G-Sync capable, so that's the weakness of ChiMei so far.
So, this explains why your laptop has G-Sync, only a couple of ChiMei panels are G-Sync certified and those are old now, like the 120hz one on the MSI GT75 Titan with GTX 1080.

The ChiMei CMN175D has better contrast ratio averages (1500 vs 800), so deeper blacks and slightly better color coverage averages (90 to 95 vs 95 to 99%) compared to the AUO82ED, but same 9ms response time and I'd say G-Sync gives the AUO82ED the upper hand for gaming until (if) CMN175D get G-Sync certified. It's mainly the contrast ratio that got me hooked, 1500 is a noticeable upgrade from 800ish but i'd rather have G-Sync.

Hi, no, I don't have it I found out about the CMN175D trough this LaptopMedia review of the new mid 2019 Omen 17.

deniale bought the 15.6 inch G-Sync version of this laptop series and just confirmed it has an AUO82ED display and not the Chi Mei CMN175D, seemingly only the Non G-sync mid 2019 17.3 inch model has it. Need to wait until someone who has bought it posts here.

The USA HP store is terribad BTW, I check it daily for a 17.3 inch version with G-Sync and for a few minutes I found models comparable to deniale's 15.6 inch G-sync dh0003nc, in USA those were listed as the dh0001nc and dh0002nc (storage configurations was the only difference), under tech specs, special features, was listed as G-Sync capable, but then it was gone from the store. Only way to differentiate from the base mid 2019 Omen 15t was the keyboard RGB in the picture (red for base Omen 15t, 4 zone multicolor for the G-Sync dh0001/2/3nc)
Lastly the new 17.3 inch model used the list a full power 115 watt TDP RTX 2070 last weekend and now lists a RTX 2070 Max-Q, while being about an inch thicker than the 15.6 model! Nonsense.

Anyone able to tell me if the HP Omen - 15-dc0051nr has SATA III speed support for a SATA III 2.5" SSD? I'm looking to swap out my internal 2.5" 7200rpm HD for a 2.5" 2TB WD SSD and I'm unable to find if this motherboard for the Omen can support SATA III speeds. Below I've linked the hard drive I'm looking at buying - Any help is greatly appreciated - thanks!!

I have gotten a spec for the 17t with i9-9880h 8 ram 2080 maxq 256 gb for $2000. I do a lot of database manipulations, rely on cpu threads to evaluate the data and do same gaming on the side. I wish i can downgrade gpu to 1660 ti with the cpu. Nah my wife will kill me!

$1000 for price-performance ratio. I bumped it down to i7-9750h 1660 ti for $960 which is more reasonable.
