Is there any issues on this laptop that I should be aware of? And can you replace the battery? Im afraid the battery might die out if I charge it too much. Thinking about buying this.

Is it only me or Omen's fan noise is a little on the higher side even when one is not gaming? During gaming, the fans ramp up a lot. But during some productivity work also, I can hear some fan noise in a quiet room. Just wanted to know is other users are also experiencing this?

What is your temp like when the fans run? Check your fan settings too maybe it's set to run in lower range of temperature. Mine only run when gaming.

How do I check the fan settings? On other note, laptop's temperature seem normal, and the battery plan that I am using is HP recommended. Can we access fan settings from omen control? I can only see one option of maximum fan, which I have not selected.

Just found out that HP released a new BIOS F09 medio january.
The update is supposed to improve keyboard response.

    Has anyone installed it?

I am just **** scared of installing any new bios update on software from HP website. Just don't have faith on what hell would break loose in proper functioning of laptop with any new iteration of driver..

Hello happy owners of this cool laptop :)

I am looking for a laptop to use as a SW development machine so 16 GB, 256 SSD and fats i7 CPU is a must. Omen looks like a good option for me :)

    Requirements:
    1. SW development in the office. Java, LifeRay etc.
    2. SW development while commuting to work by train. 2 hours without charger.
    3. Light enough for commuting (Omen is 2.1 kg that sounds light)
    4. No gaming. It is a laptop for work.

    Questions:
    - Is Omen a good choice for these requirements?
    - Is there small power supply that I can get with me while travelling and not gaming? The default one looks a bit big. Since I will not game I guess I do not need very powerful power supply.
    - Is Omen chassis strong and durable for daily commuting?
    - Can I attach 2 external monitors to the laptop?
    - Is there a docking station for this laptop? I guess not :)
    - Is it noisy when not gaming?
    - Does it have 2 GPU one from Intel and another from NVidia?
    - If I disable NVidia GPU will it prolong the battery life? Anyone tried that?
    - Is this model fine: http://www.verkkokauppa.com/fi/product/52616/fdqcx/HP-OMEN-15-5000no-15-6-kannettava-Win-8-1-musta

There are quite many questions and I would appreciate any answers!
