It installs with only a mild complaint window on Vista and XP home editions. Integration with your host OS is seamless.
You can get time-limited VPC images from:

That page is worth a look.

Sending it in to hp to be repaired. They said It's a hardware issue, and when they had me flash the bios the lcd wouldn't power on after that. So they are going to repair it, and said including shipping will take 5-7 days.

I just bought a HP Pavilion HDX9494NR and I like it. BUT!!! I can't load one of my fav games: Sid Meiers Civilization IV Beyond the Sword. It loads almost all the way and a error pops up. Any CIV fans with words of wisdom?

Also I was looking at previous posts about updating video drivers. Long story short I can't get any video drivers to install. What am I doing wrong.

    Thanks,
    B

I'm interested in purchasing this laptop. I'd like to know is the current HDX on the US site that is for sale all using the same motherboard? Specifically, if I get the T5850 chip, will I be able to swap it for the T9500 down the road? I know the T5850 runs on 667 bus, while the rest of the other chips run on 800 bus, and as far as I know, only Santa Rosa platform runs on 800mhz bus. Also, are the chips Merom or Penryn?

I did some reading and it seems there will be no Montivena HDX? Pity, as I think the quad cores start with the Montivena platform.

Go to the Civ 4 forums...I had that problem, but can't remember how I fixed it. Think it may have had something to do with installing as Administrator, but really can't remember..I'll look and try to get back to you.
