    Hi all!
im planning to collect old "epic" laptops.. did seek HDX9000 long time. last week is found from older lady here in Finland "sellind old HP laptop , price 40€". so i bought laptop.. it was HDX model 9050eo. about mint condition 9+. has leftover cpu t9300 and put it in this one (from laptop Dell XPS m1730) and works like charm. my hdx is with ati 2600XT mxm card.. and was planning to chance it to 8800gt but lets see. so is it impossible get any better than 8800gt?

A very talented technician here in the US has installed an Nvidia Quadro 3700M in the HDX. It works, but there is a lingering issue with screen brightness...it doesn't run at full brightness yet. Apparently this has to do with pixel intensity. So it is a work in progress, requiring an edit in the VBIOS. If you have any expertise in this area, please post.

hi, got a problem with my new used hdx 9000: No sound from internal speakers, no sound on front headphones, no sound on rearside front speakers, but there IS sound from rearside c/sub connector. Tried several win installations.. Driver on W7 is 5511 "device ist working propperly" says windows :(

Could this be a hardware problem, like a stuck audio connector?

    Thank you, M.

I tried different memories, CPU, Screen and with only the motherboard and the screen is still black ( even in VGA external).

I contact the seller, but how i can know if it is the GPU or the Motherboard ?

yeah, but that vga port still connects to the graphics card. you need a whole different graphic card to tell if its the motherboard or not, and thats what that usb card provides. buying a new motherboard could still leave you with that potentionally DOA graphic card you just exchanged.
the MB in that auctions link ist marked as untested, you know what that means on ebay.
