Couldn't agree with you more. I hope to get a couple of these Dragons, and upgrade them as much as possible along the way.

I'd also like to add that not only are there no 20 inch screens in sight, but besides the elegance of this notebook, I see none with a dual hinge that allows you to view this GORGEOUS WUXGA screen from many angles.

If you find a source, please share. :)

It looks like MBs might be available wholesale for good prices.

The Aliexpress/Alibaba China systemboards are either fixed faulty boards or pre-release boards. They will not be brand new boards like those purchased from HP Parts. Neither will they carry HP's pricetag. So there is some risk when buying those China boards.

I did expect them to be refurbished. And there is a warranty, so with luck...

What is a pre-release board? Experimental?

    Thanks!

In your link to the drivers that you said you use or work for you, could you please post links to them? I can't find most of them anywhere for some reason and didn't see the SP numbers for them.

Haha ok after I get at least one I will. I'm just always on the look out for one. You were giving your take on 17 inch notebooks.. well, before I got the Dragon, I had felt forced to buy a DV9700 17 inch HP notebook JUST so I could see if I wanted a bigger screen because no one had any I could see in person, including Best Buy. Based on that I realized I couldn't deal with having a 17 inch notebook. Don't think 18 would be good enough either for what I want to do with it, one reason being that I use it to watch HDTV. If I got a large HDTV I could connect to that might be one reason I would, but I won't be in the market for one for a while.

Ditto on that lol. It's an ATI, he seems kinda discombobulated and confused. He'd send me replies meant for other people ..
