    Boy, that's audacious!

Do you think you could transplant the whole arm from which the screen depends?

What laptop are you thinking of, and do you think it could be made aesthetically?

Forget about aesthetics when talking about a frankenbook:vbsmile:
I'm thinking on merging the screen with Dell M6400. The biggest aesthetic problem will be the size difference of the Dragon's screen an M6400's chassis.

So you're thinking of ditching the arm, and somehow connecting it via hinge?

I feel like the Igor to your Dr. Frankenstein.

lol good question.. beyond me maybe someone with expertise can jump in, but could it be i just miss a beautiful 20+ inch screen on a laptop? If it lacks the elegance of the HDX i believe im ok with it, but i believe i hear you.

My response was to remdale's post, old chum

Frankly I'd like to see the HP Elite book 8770 motherboard in the Dragon, as I think it would fit, and I think the all in the family HP model similarity would only help.

And it would retain the aesthetics and ergonomic virtues of the Dragon

I took off the whole arm with the metal mount from the plastic chassis and cut the needless part off.

This is the position where the mount is going to be placed.

And this is the level at which the mount is going to be put on the video card after adjusting all the sizes.

But master, shouldn't you wait for the lightning before you raise the kites?

Actually, if you succeed in this impetuous plan, and can mate the screen with the Dell, you will also be establishing the plausibility of a motherboard swap with the 8770, at least in terms of screen compatibility.

    Good luck.

Sorry, I'm not interested in the 8770. I prefer my overclocked M6400, nice machine.
I've already ordered this inverter to be able to control brightness with a resistor, so I will be supposed to be able to adjust it very smoothly and within a wide rage.
