So, I received my X9100 CPU late last week and it's currently under 'quarantine' until next week (China origin), LOL. I'm still very undecided what direction to take. Should I just do a simple pin mod or go full bore and perform an FSB mod as well? Or do nothing? What are everyone's opinions on the matter? Pros, cons? I'm not an expert laptop modder like some of you here, so that must be taken into account.

On a side note, the problem I had with the laptop not keeping time after every reboot seems to have been fixed by swapping batteries from the first Dragon I acquired last year. Didn't expect that but pleasantly surprised.

Go for FSB 1066 pin mod. No cons for sure

alright I got my new wifi working, and wanted to show everyone the performance. I believe this is originally a Mac wifi card, but the ebay seller was able to provide a working windows driver. I haven't messed around with any settings yet. I may look into that another time

Getting sick of the wifi issues I'm experiencing, would like to upgrade to wifi 6 bluetooth 5, but I'm only finding units that have 2 antenna connectors. Our original has 3 antenna connections, Has anyone found a 6/5 card with 3 antennas?

I must be missing something, or going to the wrong place. I've been playing with UserBench Mark, and it indicates that my 8gb memory isn't being fully utilized, that I need to enable dual channel xmp... Yet I cannot find anything in the bios that would allow me to do that. Is it an option on these computers or is there somewhere else I need to go to enable it?

According to Intel's XMP specification, DDR2 doesn't support XMP at all.

The sys manual noted that it only supports 4gb, which is what I upgraded to. Even just going from 2 to 4 made a big difference.
