What it came down to is there is a program named NBdmiFit.213 which is the one that supports 8760W's. HP won't allow non HP people to download it ........They also won't repair such old machines referring one to buy a new MB...... every place it is supposedly available for download (leaked copies) charges for access .......I'm unwilling to take a chance on a site like that

Has anyone tried to run wx4150 on 8760w? I know it is MXM 3.0a version but what really matters for me is a temp. I don't need the best gpu specs whatsoever. As we know all of 8x60w support only LVDS LCD. I've come across a topic where someone has successfully run M4800 G1 lvds with this graphic.

It also means that there is a chance that gpu's like wx4170 or wx7130 could possibly work as well.

    Take a look :

No chance, needs either Enduro/iGPU enabled or a eDP panel

It seems it happens with two DIMMs motherboards. Some power limit above 80C.
Is your mobo with only two DIMM Ram slots?

I have a general question about the keyboards of the 8560w / 8760w. Are the keyboards of the 15" models compatible with the 17" ones? I'm curious to know if they have the same screw mounting locations.

Okay I contacted the seller about My issue with the GTX 980M and they said that you need at least 240 watts to use the GTX 980M. HP Elitebook only has 230 Watt. Is this true?

No, 230W is more than enough for GTX 980.
I did use mine (while I had 980M) even with 200W PSU without single trouble.
I told you - update your bios to the latest version first.
