Just not a lot to say, mostly. The 850 EVO in mine bricked itself, so I'm back to the old Vertex 2 for now. Still pondering whether or not I'm going to pick up a 2.5" SSD to replace it again or just wait and upgrade to a whole new notebook.

I was hoping someone on this forum would be game cognizant, or graphics card savvy.

    Don't give up the 8740W.

I appreciate your response, Judicator, but I'm using the downloaded GOG version, not the CD, I think your referring to SafeDisc.

I did one with the GTX 880M inside but decided on changing it to the GTX 780M I feel that the 880M is a bit over kill and CPU might be a bottleneck.

Just need to mod the Nvidia .inf

    Ok, thanks for reply.
and what would be better k5000m or gtx870 I have the opportunity to buy one of these GPU.
Unfortunately, I was looking for gtx780 and found nothing interesting in my country.

I'd go with the 870M it's still not a bad card and win 10 all day every day

But this gpu work normally after mod Nvidia.inf? If I understand correctly, the CPU (i have i7 920XM) is too weak for this GPU, and it causes a bottleneck.
Otherwise 8740w is working normally on 880m? because i want upgrade my firepro7820 for something better

I'm also interested in which is a better upgrade, performance-wise and energy consumption-wise.

Regarding my earlier problem with the game Mafia, the GPU driver upgrade did the trick, but I did not use device manager for the upgrade. I used the AMD cleanup utility in safe mode, and then installed the ATI driver package from HP.
