I saw the article as well, but didn't manage to read it before the info and pic(s) were pulled. Did anyone manage to save them?

I am dying for info on this model. Maybe these will help:

gslab-blog | No pain, No gain

13" screen is surelly wrong but the 1440x900 option might actually be 1600x900.
Lets hope this model gets a 1600x900 IPS panel.

Yeah, the screen specs are a bit fishy. You're right, 1440x900 is probably meant to be 1600x900.

The Lenovo x220 got an IPS panel, so maybe the 2560p will as well.

Sweet, according to that PDF, a 2760P tablet is to debut.

this italian link shows how the new 2560p comes with the option for a 1400 x 900 display! I wonder if it will be an IPS screen to compete with the x220 thinkpad...

The mention of 1440x900 is probably a mistake, it should be 1600x900. An IPS screen would be nice, though I'd be more interested in seeing actual pictures (note that the pictures in the link are of current-gen 2540p and 2740p).

Weight of 2560P compared to previous generations

    <table cellspacing=0 cellpadding=2 rules=cols border=4 bgcolor=white><tbody><tr style="background-color: #d9d9d9"><td>Item/Owner's Lounge</td><td>2510P</td><td>2530P</td><td>2540P</td><td>2560P</td></tr><tr><td>Weight with 6-cell+ODD</td><td>1.63kgs/3.59lbs</td><td>1.70kgs/3.74lbs</td><td>1.81kgs/3.99lbs</td><td>1.92/4.24lbs</td></tr></tbody></table>
    Source: 2510P, 2530P, 2540P, 2560P differences

As a comparison, a Lenovo X220 with 6-cell is 1.45kg/3.5lbs. That's a whopping 470grams less. In other words a 2560P weights 32.4% more than a X220. Removing the optical drive would shave off 140grams. So the 2560P is still going to be 330grams heavier with the same drive configuration.

If they include a Thunderbolt and mSATA port, IPS LCD option and made it slimmer and lighter then it will steal the Thunder from the X220. As it is now they've made it fatter and heavier than the previous generation. It's pretty though.

Sounds interesting. Looks like competition for the X220T.

Does anyone have any idea of how much the 2560p will weigh? This might be my next laptop if the weight, screen, and battery life beat the Lenovo x220.

Any thoughts on how it will compare to the forthcoming Sony Z?

One thing I do know, I like the looks of Sony and the Thinkpad, over the HP laptops.

Looks interesting --- I'm wanting to update my old Lenovo X300. Without a similar new Lenovo, seems like the Lenovo X220, HP 2650p and whatever the new Sony Z turns out to be are the main candidates. I wish we could find out a bit faster what all the business class SB ultraportable options really are.
