I had a 7200CTO which came with 1 hinge which came apart whenever I opened the lid. It could be snapped back together but was obviously defective. They gave me a small credit since I didn't want to send it in, and I ended up returning it anyway. My new DV7 does not have this problem.

On another note. My temps are never hot sinve I only use this as a media center.

Well, when I game I sometimes reach 90C on the processor cores, and 82-85 in the GPU, and that's with the CPU on non-turbo. When I play inside cooler rooms, it can peak up to 85C.

The Intel HD Graphics option....is it the 2500 or the 4000?

    It's the 4000, from the 3rd Gen core i's.

Using throttlestop. Just set the multiplier to the highest (23x for the 3610QM) and it won't turbo.

I had the same issue when I updated the BIOS/EFI. When you boot into the OS you are installing (Presuming it's windows) where the drives usually are you will see a button called "Install Drivers". You will need to load the chipset drivers onto a USB drive and use that and install all the drivers and the HDD's should be recognized :)

Either that, or make sure your copy is a recent Windows install disk (Windows 8 or Windows 7 SP1) since the RAID config of the hard drive is not native to the older Windows 7 install disk.
