So, I recently got a booklet of coupons from Costco in the mail and in it was an ad for the HP DM4T laptop which is top on my list of laptops to buy for school. The specs in the ad showed:

Intel Core i5 Processor, 4GB RAM, 500GB Hard Drive and an additional 512MB Discrete Graphics

That graphic card surprised me being that it is optional in a regular DM4T and being that the price is $799.99 whereas, that graphic card would have cost another 100 dollars and make the official price over 800 dollars anywhere else. So I am writing this to see if this legit, if any of you guys got the DM4T in Costco and if you guys encourage me to follow through with this sale. Thanks in advance!

Yeah I got the Costco coupon. It's in the Instant Savings section right?

I'd suggest you use the 400$ off coupon at HP online. However, you will have to customize the laptop to at least 1,299.99$ for the coupon to work. However, you will have even better specs. The laptop however will cost 900$ at the end (without tax and shipping).

Here's the coupon if you're interested.

Yea but I doubt my father will spend an extra 100. But are you saying the Costco deal is legit and I should go for it?

Does it have a specific SKU listed in the ad for this laptop?

SKU is the number with which stores will identify and usually track stock of certain products. It's usually a small set of 6 digits written on the bottom of any product in the ad.

Oh well, in that case, I think it does. It says: "Item 614890"

So, if that is the SKU, what exactly does that mean?

Hmm interesting... I just bought a DM4 from Microsoft store its HP DM4-1062NR, the same config but does not have a discrete graphic card. I managed to get it for $694 (price includes tax+shipping). Do you think i got a good deal or should I go for Costco and return mine to Microsoft??

Excellent! So It is pretty much the same one as the one on the HP site:
HP Pavilion dm4 and dm4t series | HP Official Store

And the one on the Best Buy site where I was originally going to get it at:
    Best Buy

Only, the Costco one has the additional 515MB "Discrete" Graphic Card, correct? :)

Correct, actually PCMag has a review of this exact config they purchased from Costco:

Looks like a winner to me, especially for that price.

Wow, I did not catch that one. Thank you. Although, I think I am looking for the 512mb Graphic Card and Costco seems to have the lowest price for the DM4T with that feature. Any other thoughts?

Two things. Staples has the DM4 without the upgraded graphics card for $699 and they're running a promotion where if you trade-in an old laptop, you'll get $50 back. It says for regular priced items only, though, so I'm not sure if this counts. It looks like it should. Also, it's out of stock online but a few local stores have them. You can check the availability on the website.

    HP Pavilion dm4-1060us 14" Laptop | Staples®

Second, I saw the DM4T at Costco last night and it shows that you get 2 years worth of warranty through Costco. That's more than usual (normally comes with only 1 year of warranty).
