What do you mean nothing? Black screen? What happens on the external VGA monitor?

My Clevo 965M 4GB (=Maxwell) doesnt want to run with 8760W-DC screen on 8770W but coincidentally this night I found out that it does run with the original K3000M (=Kepler). I cannot find any other suitable VBIOS for the 965M (see screenshot) .. There is some VBIOS out there on https://www.techpowerup.com/ but if I try to flash then I get a device id mismatch error... Better not force it, a bricked card is also not something I desire.

The 965M also runs without a problem in the 8770W with the original TN panel. Sadly the TN panel sux monkey balls, why HP is such a disgrace with laptop screens in workstation equipment I do not understand.

Anyway, when a black screen occurs the whole display is not being recognized. No clue why, VBIOS? Who knows. The external VGA connector produces an image though.. Thats how I figured out that the internal display is totally not being recognized (unless "standard VGA Microsoft adapter" - driver is being used, then it produces a 1920x1080 image).

If I read this message; http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...ocking-vbios-mod.784164/page-18#post-10816375 then HP VBIOS can actually be a real pain in the ass and it should be a Dell VBIOS to actually get things going. I have settled with K3000M (original card from 8770W) + dreamcolor screen from 8760W, not going to try any GPU upgrades anymore, it's not my primary laptop anymore to begin with. Which is Zbook 17 G3 M3000M now. Much better on all levels. Except the screen. Although its an IPS screen it cannot match with the 87x0W dreamcolor sharpness / overall quality of the image. Maybe replacing the screen of the Zbook 17 G3 with 120 / 144 Hz screen at later point in time but thats a different topic here on this forum :)

That said.. Its weird that a 8740W+M2000M works directly without any hassle.. Personal experience from me reported in 8740W owners lounge topic on this forum. Why this is, I dont know. Even has a HP VBIOS.

I think the problem it's not the dell vbios, that it' s recognized by bios, but the software quadro nvidia, that miss a piece that can make match the system.

I hope when he/she will be free to post here.
