    Hi!
My friend has this laptop and wants to add a second hard drive. Seems to be possible, there is space (although obstructed by plastic) and two connectors on the motherboard. That's the point: Which cable will do the trick, between the mb and hdd? The serial of mb is AMD E2-7110 APU. There's plenty of options on aliexpress, but which one will actually fit?

    Picture of the mb: https://ibb.co/mbJrp4f

    Thanks!

Use an equal(same part number) adapter board and cable, the cable is just a plain FFC cable, its the board that you will need to find.

Given the 4 caps near the connector it indeed looks like there is a SATA interface going into that un-used connector, but it might be disabled in BIOS.

You'll need a sata cable for that model plus a caddy so the drive will stay in place sadly the parts will be kinda expensive. The main problem is what senso posted that it might be disabled in the BIOS by HP. I havent heard any 15 inch laptop that can fit 2 SATA hard drives in a long time. Tbh your friend should just upgrade his HDD with an SSD as they're getting cheaper and cheaper every year.

    Something like this?

I will check bios when I get home. But usually a device appears in Bios when it's already connected. Or you mean HP intentionally disabled it, so it cannot be upgraded?
