So... if you use the laptop with a dgpu to play games and do graphics in general, are there other benefits to high speed system RAM in terms of OS performance gains?
Because, I was under the impression that high speed RAM mainly benefits IGP's. For systems with a dgpu, going with a higher speed RAM won't really notice benefits.

higher ram speed helps out in minimum fps, thus potential reduction in stutters. also, depending from which speed ure upgrading from, u might feel a higher overall "snappiness" in the system :)

but true, aside from those specific scenarios, u wont see that much difference by ram upgrades. most important thing is to have enough of it installed for ur needs and for it to be dual channel, the speed is rather secondary

    Hi!

I recently bought some good quality memory for my Acer (i5-4210U, Lynx Point LP), a 2x4Gb kit of Kingston HyperX 1600Mhz DDR3 kit. Since there are laptops with the same chipset that are able to run 1866Mhz, i was wondering if is it possible with my acer, because then the next upgrade would be a 2x8gb. 1866Mhz kit.

Am i correct, if i could flash an 1866Mhz entry to the SPD, if the laptop is capable of running the rams @1866, that would be enough? I've attached a pic of the current SPD, could anybody help me with the timings i should try to set?

EDIT: Unfortunately as i found out, SPD writes are disabled, so this question doesn't need to be answered

    If someone buying Thaiphoon Burner I'd like to highlight three things;

-the program is only for one laptop,
    -the license will expire,
    -no excuse by customer service.

These things are hidden in their policy, which nobody are reading. I screwd double, the last years license is expired, than now purchased a new license, unfortunately I did with the old laptop, got licensed to that one (which I am selling), so I cannot use the program again. Haha, better to spend money for modules, at least than you have some physical goods and nobody can take it from you!

Good, now it is clear warning for forum members. Instead go trough the buying process from this point and tell me where these warnings are showing up?! 16USD is not a big deal me (two times now), but found it bad was not even good for one time use. Normally If I purchasing a software that means lifetime and can use it on anywhere If I want...

    Hello,
    I have some Question`s.
    Has the Corsair memories
    Corsair Vengeance 8GB Kit SO-DIMM DDR3 PC3-17066 CL11 (CMSX8GX3M2B2133C11)
2 Rank or is it single rank?

Can i use Thaiphoon Burner with these Memories, with the Crucial 8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR3 PC3-14900 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1.35V
    (BLS2C4G3N18AES4CEU)
(i mean the crucial have 2 Rank)

and with the actual Kingston HyperX impact 2x4gb 2133mhz. ?

    My Notebook is a Asus G73sw (HM65/ i7 2860QM)

    Thank`s for your help.
