how to remove virus found in avira

    a message comes up saying it found a trojan. The default is deny access. whether I click on that or choose delete it keeps coming backup.

    so how do i get rid of it?

    Did you just run a scan? If not, I suggest you do it right now.

    What OS? Boot into safe mode, run a scan, then try and remove it.

    That needs to be a rule. Place laptop specs into sig.

    I hate playing the guessing game.

    yes it was during a scan, on a vista home premium laptop.

    eventually after keep pressing delete it finally stopped appearing.

    but i do have another question about avira.

    if during a scan a file comes up as infected and you know it is safe, I choose ignore.

    it pops right back up.

    the only way to get rid of it for a while is by checking note action taken ( dangerous). is this okay to do, seeing the word dangerous does not make me want to check it.

    checking it helped for a while but then it popped up again - the file that I know is safe.

    so how do you stop a false positive from popping up.

    You can usually put certain files in an exemption/safe list. Try AVAST! or AVG if it keeps happening.
