You can try Throttlestop. Except you don't have an extreme CPU (there would be an XM suffix on the model number), so I don't know how well it will work for your processor. Use at your own risk. All overclocking carries the risk of damaging your CPU, motherboard, and/or power adapter.

You can't overclock the 2670. All you can do is raise the BCLK maybe 5%. You can do this in the unlocked bios or intel XTU. You can also increase your max turbo tdp in XTU to 57w so that you maintain your max turbo speeds forever. THrottlestop had no affect on my old 2630qm

Yes. In the m17x R4 and M18x, the 3720qm is overclockable in the bios. Enable Extreme mode and set your multi's to 40,39,38,38 (i.e., 4ghz single core, 3.9 dual core, 3.8, 3-4 cores)

So all non-XM SB CPUs can't be OC'ed?

all SB QM procs cannot be overclocked...correct.

There are a few ES chips that were clockable...for example there was a 2720 ES with 8M cache that had an unlocked multi...and recently, there was a 2820 ES that had an unlocked multi

I've found this post when looking for ways to O/C my 2670. I've managed to raise BCLK to 103,3 MHz and extend 'long duration time window' to 56 seconds (max available) and those options seem to work when changed in Bios. But I can't find a way to increase max turbo tdp.

I've installed the latest XTU but everything other than BCLK is greyed out despite the Bios options enabled ('overclocking feature' and 'override turbo settings').
I'm using A09 bios that came out with my laptop, could it be that A08->A09 got that option blocked? Or is it some later 2670 that has this option hard-coded?

    Thx in advance :)

The 2720 ES that was unlocked was the Q154 spec right?

Could you tell me the sspec of the 2820 that is unlocked?
Also you wouldn't have a link to the discussion about it?

    EDIT: Must be Q15G.
