    Hi, nice topic.

I'm from Brazil and I intend to go to USA and buy an Alienware.
As I want to configure one, I'm affraid I can't buy them at the stores like BestBuy.
I also can't buy from Dell's site because even paying with an international credit card (by telphone) I would need US address (they can't ship to an hotel address).
So I was looking in eBay and saw 2 sellers: eva.international and hidevolution (The same that you guys said). They do ship to an hotel and also have a retail store which I can personally pick up.

But I don't know what state I'm going so in case I ask them to send to my hotel address, how these shipping methods works in USA?
They will deliver it and the hotel receptionist will keep it for me then deliver it to me or I need to personally receive it (sign for it or something like that)? Is it safe to do that? Don't want to buy an expensive laptop and lose it in the middle of the process.

Does anyone know any other store that sells configured Alienware laptops?

I just placed an order with HIDevolution.COM, I live in the UK and will post my experiences here once the process is complete, the order process itself was very good and painless with a very helpful rep in contact with me called Ted from their (I assume) sales team, my machine is a high spec AW R3 and will save me a considerable ammount of money based on US and UK price differences after talking with a Dell sales rep (R3 still not officially launched in UK yet)

Once I receive my machine I will update with the full HIDevolution.com experience, so far it's been exceptional

Found these guys on ebay and have sent them a message. They seem to have very good feedback. The R3 is available in New Zealand but the pricing is unacceptable compared to Dell USA.

I talked to some sales guy, a different one this time and questioned there base price. They kept talking about how the build was much more quality comapred to US and will last for 20 to 25 years unlike the US which was full of bad quality and would have compatibility issues if someone used a US version anywhere else.

They must think we're really dumb.:D

Anyway took off £250 by just talking. It's easy if someone is happy with the price and spec but still want to take a few pounds off. It's not that hard at all. Just tell them your budget and make it less than 300 the normal price and see how much they take off. Should at least take of £150 at least.

Wow, how can they get away with lying so much like that? I've never seen a company lie so much to its customers before lol...

I nearly laughed out loud when they said that.:D

Not just one time but several times he mentioned about the super build quality being the difference.

    LMAO!
    I wish you would've recorded him :D
The Chinese guys pick better quality parts for the R3s that go to Europe :)
BTW, i just ordered the R3 following the same procedures i posted here (which aren't available here anymore :) ) and it still works great.

your guide is really helpful. I bought one through the Dell US without any hassle. As my brother lives in Portland, no sales tax as well. Can you recommend a good shipping company to send it UK, please?

    Thanks

You'll also have to consider custom fees,i don't know how they calculate it in UK,might want to check with them.
