I am very organized when saving my photos. I have them in folders and sub-folders.

    Example:

Pictures > My Photos > Photoshoot > Date

So if I wanted to upload a certain photo either on Instagram or whatnot, I can easily go that folder to locate it.

With iOS, when you import your photos to your devices, the Photos app ignores the hierarchy and just puts them all in the Camera Roll or under All Photos. Yeah, good luck sending someone a specific picture you wanted you'd be scrolling for hours to find it especially if you have a big library.

I have researched this a lot in the past but failed to find a way that works.

Luckily, now that I am using macOS, it's as simple as dragging/dropping the folders into the Photos app icon and choosing "Keep folder organization" before you start importing your photos.
