Hi, as an owner of a Sager laptop I want to make this thread for future users in need of a solution for their grinding/scraping fan.

Open up your back case and fan cover and remove the fan. On the underside of the fan, there should be a black ring in the center (the area that makes contact with the fan motor). Push that black ring in as far as you can with your thumbs. Now you can reinstall the fan and it should work fine now. To be extra safe you could put some super glue under the ring so that it doesn't slide out again.

I was having fan issues for a year until it got unbearable recently and finally realized the source of the problem. I was preparing to pay $30+ for a fan replacement from Sager, but that isn't necessary if you're able to use this method.
