How is the progress on Lenovo orders?

    My order of a Y730 on 9/5 with an estimated ship date of 10/3 just got pushed back to 10/24.

    No way. You ordered your Y730 on 9/3 and now it has a ESD of 10/24? Omg i ordered mine on 9/21, which is 3 weeks after yours, so my ESD of 10/21 is already obsolete and Lenovo is just waiting to push it back.

    For the past few weeks, orders have been processed quite quickly. Things might have changed with the increased shortage in batteries.

    Ordered a T400 on Sept 24, shipped Oct 6. Took a bit longer than some others have posted here for the T400, and I don't believe I ordered anything that would have increased the build time.

    Had this recent experience with customer support this morning:

    Customer: Hello, can you help me understand how my order is doing?
    Customer: customer number xxxxxxxxx
    LENOVO WEBCHAT: Sure..
    Customer: order xxxxxxx
    Customer: I saw that money was withheld from my account and then put back in...
    LENOVO WEBCHAT: When is order was transmitted to the warehouse there was a Hang occurred to this order and there is a Highest Executive team working on this order, I do apologize we will not be able to give you an Estimates Ship Date for this order right now.
    Customer: what does a Hang mean? And when will I know that it is moving through the process?
    LENOVO WEBCHAT: There is some issue with the order an we do not know what is the issue.
    Customer: Who can I discuss with to determine what the "issue" is with the order?
    LENOVO WEBCHAT: We have a Highest Executive team working on this order, and you will not be able to talk to any one about this issue, because all you tell you the same.

    I changed the name of the agent (and I use that term loosely). I have an issue and I can't even find out WTH it is!

    (from reading another post, I do realize they may have been closed last week for a Chinese Holiday but if that is the reason for the hang.. then admit it!)

    You need to call the credit card department directly to begin to try to iron out this problem. On line chats will only get you 2 to 4 more weeks of delays and run arounds.

    Well I spoke to the billing department and said it is not on a credit hold. Just that it is being escalated (the person said it may be in configuration). I guess I will need to be patient... I ordered on the 1st and the ship date still says the 15th. It just spooked me when they use the terms "hang" and "escalation". I saw the money "leave" my account and then go back into the account.

    If it is not on credit hold, all you can really do is cross your fingers and hope for the best. There has been a shortage of 9 cell batteries in the past. If you ordered a Quadro 570 GPU crossing your fingers probably wont do you any good.

    I had a similar im conversation with a customer service rep this morning. I ordered a t400 and last week checked on the ship date only to be told it was moved from 10/14 to 10/20 and that I should check again today. When I asked the lenovo rep they said similarly that there was a 'Hang' whatever the hell that is, and that they couldn't give me any more information on what was wrong, when it would be fixed, or when it would be shipped. When I asked for a phone number or email address for somebody on the Highest Executive Team that lenovo had working on the problem they told me there wasn't any way for me to contact them. Pretty shoddy customer service if you ask me...

    If Dell has a 4 day delay with their ATI 3650 video card, would this delay have any effect with Lenovo, especially the Y730 models.

    Another recent data point WRT a new T500.

    Ordered - Nov 19 late in the day in the US. (IIRC, it showed "in process" by the next day.)

    Estimated ship date: Nov 12.

    Reported ship date: Nov 23 (Woo!!! :D )

    Arrival in Anchorage AK: Nov 24

    Arrival in Louisville, KY: Nov 25

    Cleared US Customs: Nov 28:

    First delivery attempt: Nov 28: (KY to Chicago, IL suburb)

    Second (Successful) delivery attempt: Dec 1.

    So... Lenovo did great, UPS did great, Customs could have done better.

    Awesome, hopefully they'll get my X200s out as quickly - ordered 28 November 2008, estimated ship date of 12 December 2008.
