I need to use a cintiq tablet with my asus g73jh and it does not display red. I am told I need to change the asus g73 display to 6500k color temperature to calibrate the colors with the cintiq

It does not work. There seems to be no red subpixels being utilized when the display is hooked to my laptop. Since the G73 only has HDMI and VGA ports, and the cintiq only has VGA and DVI, I cannot test to see if the laptop Outputs red to DVI. The tablet works fine with my desktop which has DVI and HDMI outputs.

EDIT: The laptop's VGA connector does not have holes for the tightening screws, so could the VGA connection be loose and cause this?

I seriously doubt the lack of screws will cause a problem. Just get a proper and if u want to be sure a new VGA cable and you should have no issues.

You can get a HDMI to DVI cable or adapter. The two standards are compatible.

If you're in the USA, let me suggest Monoprice as a source. I suggest getting a cable because an adapter will put a lot of stress on the HDMI jack.
