Do I screw them all in 1 through 6 numerically, or do I screw them in numerically with 1 turn each going from 1 to 6 until they are all tight?

The "correct" way is to tighten them down a little at a time in the order of the numbers. IE 1-6 each a 1/2 turn or so at a time. This is supposed to ensure even pressure distribution as the heat sink is tightened down. This was more important years ago, as in decades ago, when there were no 'stops' built in and over-tightening could mean breaking the die or having severely off centered pressure. This is no longer the case.

So while that still remains the correct way, I have since turned to simply pushing down the heatsink over the cpu and gpu dies to keep the pressure, and then and simply screwing down all the screws afterwards.
