You mean 1809 right? there is no 1509.

What's your current build version. Type winver in an elevated command prompt and tell me your build number.

oh sorry you said "past" in the thread title I was thinking it's not upgrading to 1809

Let's find out your current build number and also tell me, did you perhaps do any tweaks or changes that might prevent Windows update from updating properly?

You can try the manual upgrade tool

I am trying to update to OCT update. It said 10240? Not making any sense to me.

I will give the manual upgrade tool a try. Report back later. If anyone says that windows 10 has not improved since this version, They are DEAD WRONG. This is horrible compared to the latest version.

No, I never tweaked anything. Just installed this version, and wanted to update before installing any software etc.

if you just installed it, why not do a clean install with 1809? It'd be much smoother than an upgrade

Well, I just grabbed this disk, and went to town to make sure it actaully was my hard drive that crapped out. SO, It's there on the system now, might as well dive in and get it going. I know one thing, the SSD is WAY faster than the old drive.

Trust me an upgrade from 10240 which is like 7 builds behind the current version is NOT going to go smoothly due to numerous files/registry entries being modified. j00 have been warned. Good luck

All done and working great! What a difference in speed etc. Took awhile, but well worth it. Thanks for the link to the update site.
