I've just bought on an ex corporate CF-31 with 20000 recorded hours.

It is in completely new condition. No marks on it at all. No wear to the keys or touchpad. The LCD hinge is stiff and the port cover doors are stiff as if they haven't been opened. The docking/rear USB cover was "stuck" in place also as if it had never been opened. No wear on the stylus point or touchscreen etc etc.

I'm intrigued as to how a Toughbook can accrue 20000 hours use without looking as if it has been used?

In comparison, I bought a 60 hours CF-19 mk5 which was scuffed all over and needed the screen protector replacing.

Some sit on a desk running 24/7, or in an emergency vehicle docking station. You can't always judge condition by hours alone. I had some Getac V110 with a few thousand hours that look like they stored them in a running dryer for a few years.
We have seen 60,000+ hour units that looked brand new too.

I believe TB's accumulate hours on the clock even in standby mode, so a "hot standby" unit kept charged and ready could have many hours without much actual use.
