Wow its been 10 years since i last posted here. feels weird.

I am in need of an ultrabook with with certain capabilities. In the past 10 years I've owned 5 or so laptops all of which were purchased 2nd hand and always had unique issues with them....

The wife has approved the purchase of a fancy NEW or REFURBUISHED/ Second hand machine.... have at most $1750 USD to spend... im in Australia so im happy to import from amazon.

I like to travel a bit on air planes and go camping out in the bush with no power. It needs to have:

    -Really good battery 8-10 hrs
-Light gaming... WoW and dota 2
-USB-C charging capable with high end power bank which I will purchase eventually
    -Light weight and 13"
-Able to view and edit 4k go pro HEVC footage (im struggling to find evidence on the net that this is actually possible on any of these utlrabooks)
-120hz highly desirable (razer only ones doing it for 13")

    IM thinking

    Dell XPS 13
    Dell XPS 13 2 in 1
    HP Spectre x360
    Razer Stealth 13"
    ..........Open to other suggestions?

The DELL's are just awesome looking machines which is what im leaning to. But than the Razer has 120hz and abetter gfx card suited better for gaming and editing in 4k, but than its battery is not as good. Don't really know how I feel about the HP spectre x360.

I have a pretty good desktop machine @ home I mainly use so its not a daily driver as such.

Is there some hectic 13" AMD ultrabooks coming out soon that I should wait for?

    How "ultra" will that be?
Ultra portable as if u can slip into a ladies sling bag?
Or Ultra performance on cpu and gpu?

Today's options out there can be very... Ultra Extreme!

Maybe an imported Asus G14 is in your price range? It basically meets your criteria, unless you happen to want a built in webcam.

Lucked out on an unopened HP spectre 360 in eBay for almost half the price of a new one. Only issue is it only has 8gm ram but we will see how it goes. I havnt used anything less than 16gb for years. If it's garbage ill resell it.

    The for the advice guys
