    Hi All!

Sorry for this newbie question but I really needs some help.

I love my 4K XPS but I've been using my 2017 MBP because I find my XPS frustrating to use because it's so slow and the battery is dead in 2 hours.

I currently have the regular 1TB HDD and the smaller battery.

I'd like to upgrade to an SSD and the larger battery if possible.

Which SSD and battery is compatible with my unit?

Another option that I read is I can keep the smaller battery and add a SSD that works with the the current HDD if that makes any sense!?

    Thanks in advance

I recommend you to upgrade the hard drive with an NVME SSD and get a larger battery.
I have that config and my 9550 lasts 5 to 7hours (with a full HD screen, not a 4k)

I ended up getting the nvme evo 970 and installed without a hitch. After installing all the updates and programs I reconnected the regular 2.5 hdd but it failed to discover the drive in device manager and explore. I think I messed up somewhere in the boot.

I just ended up removing the 2.5 and decided to use the nvme on its own.

I’m so glad I did this, it’s faster then I expected and thanks to this forum again!
