I just bought myself a new hp notebook from best buy and I want to remove all the free trials and stuff. I know you can remove alot from the windows uninstall. But I wanted to know if you guys had better ways to remove all that crap.

Use the restore cd they give you. When you put the cd in the auto install thing will pop up and give you a list of options. I'd just close it, then restart your computer.

By then it should probably give you the option to boot from cd or something and you can reformat your comp with no crap on it.

I can't remember the steps exactly, but they are pretty simple. You will see a big partition that is about the size of your harddrive. you can delete that (it will delete evrything), then it will let you create a new partition (which will be the size of your harddrive) thennnnnnnnnnn you can install windows on a new partition, and you can just select the one you just made.. and then let it do its thing

sorry if thats nto clear, im not great at giving out instructions for reformating. post back if you want more help. But that should do what you want it to do. It will give you a fresh install wtih no garbage on it. i did it with my presario and my dell.

Thanks, I will try that. I was up all night trying to find the uninstall for AOL 9.0 and easy internet connection wizard and others, and couldn't get rid of it all.

    THANKS.
