    System:
    laptop Sony SZ6
    Vista 32bit, SP1 installed.

It happens when i try to open some videofiles.
i'd even reinstalled Vista, but it didnt help.
    :

"Windows Host-process does not respond ( Rundll32) ", "Windows Host-process has been stoped".

then it shows "Com surrogate" error
after says "explorer does not respond"
[ by "explorer" i mean windows explorer, NOT Internet Explorer]
    and explorer closes.

Help please. its very annoying, i cant even watch my clips and other videos.

What type of video files cause the problem? Has this always been a problem, or did it start after you installed a certain piece of software? Have you done a complete virus/malware scan?

No, i haven't installed any codecs so far.
all types of video files causes the bug. there are no virus/malware on my system. i have installed lots of updates( for vista, and for sony) after windows reinstall, so i can't recognize what update is bugging.

I suppose it is a bug of Windows Media Player and Sony software, especially SonicStage.http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNSZ691NX&upd_id=3226&os_id=29
i've installed that update, but it didn't help.

Is there any clues in the system/application event logs. If so please post the exact text for the error

Type the error code into Microsoft's search box on their website, I had a rundll32 error when i tried to run dreamscene, it turned out to be linked to my bluetooth stack? I downloaded the patch microsoft recommended and it's fixed.
