My wife and I are wanting to get a laptop and I was hoping someone could offer some suggestions for a good deal.
We will definitely use it to watch dvds on airplane trips, so it needs a good graphics card.
I may load a game or two, so the graphics card should be good enough for that.
My brother says Best Byu has a Toshiba for about that price.
Any ideas on where to look at reviews and best deals for that price range?
    Thanks

cnet is always a good place to start : http://reviews.cnet.com/Notebooks/2001-3121_7-0.html?tag=ont (current feature is a review roundup of budget notebooks; there are other similar articles in thier archives).

There are laptops that are new in the $500 range now, but that doesn't mean they're a good fit. Dell often has deals on the 5100, which might be a good fit.
