 I think thats a good configuration for me, what you think? I think warranty i s a good idea as this will be my only college pc, and i want ZERO worries. Also note the pricec without 4year completecare is $1937, meaning essentially 2000-750-100= 1150, is this the price plateau?

there's your way to get the 40% off - actually it's 43% after all the coupons
However, it's through Dell Small Business, so the warranty is slightly different, but you might be able to order it without a warranty and then call the Dell Warranty Office and add the warranty you got from Dell Home. I would ask them about that first.

I think those offers expire very soon, so if you plan to go this way, you should get on it pretty quickly.

I'd just like to add that I was like you considering going with the full 4 year complete care because it was 4 years of warranty, and accidental damage coverage. However I found out that theft, and fire are some things not covered by Dell's accidental damage coverage (as shown on their site).

Checking with various insurance companies I found out you can have your notebook covered for accidental damage, fire, theft, etc. under your homeowner's, or renter's insurance though. It also would be able to cover more than just your notebook but other items you own as well such as tvs, home theater system, etc. for the yearly cost.

Theft is a risk with notebooks so perhaps being at college you might want to look into the various software that can track your system in case someone did swipe it but then gets online with it. Here's a link to one company:

Here is a quote from the article linked below about notebook theft as well: "According to the FBI, notebook theft is the second most prevalent computer crime, following virus related offenses."

Do you know the exact date they will end? (not sure if Dell releases this info or not)
