Has anyone tried modding the MSI Logo color on the lid?

I know that HIDevolution will do this mod, but I got my G73VR Titan from XoticPC and they don't list this mod as far as I remember. This is likely just the white light coming from the screen, so they are likely putting a colored translucent film in the lid to change the color. Or maybe it's a completely different type of mod. Any thoughts on this? Anyone tried it at home?

Hmm, I'd swap the leds instead; blocking the window with a filter would make it a lot dimmer. It wouldn't be very difficult to do. Diy with a soldering iron or remove the led board and have a shop do it for you.

Mind that display lid logos are NOT created by cutting a hole in back of the panel and using the lcd's backlight. They're always separate devices and powered by dedicated wires either with their own plug or co-joined with that of the panel.

Ahhh ok thank you. I had read somewhere it was the backlight but that was several years old and from another forum. The dedicated board seems very much better and not hard to mod. I had changed out the power LED on my desktop a couple years ago and I've changed laptop screens for people before so not new to getting into the area. Might wait until new laptop goes out of warranty tho b4 opening up the lid lol.
