Yeah, with HM170 chipset you would be screwed with locked down i7-6700Hq if you didn't go with the slightly faster unlocked 4 core BGA:biggrin:

By order of most important to least importance for ram

Two identical chips(seems a no brainer, but its a common mistake)>Duel Rank>2666mhz, or highest supported>Lowest latency to mhz.

here is the winner for that :https://www.hyperxgaming.com/us/memory/impact-ddr4?Speed=2666MHz&Module Capacity=16GB&Kit=Single Module - The Jedec profiles are great on this one wit no xmp needed. There is a 3000mhz duel rank with a CL of 16, but they where somewhat imfamous for stability issues, and they are more for laptop's with a desktop cpu anyway. With these chips, I can at least score consistently what is the top for the 7700hq in cinebench which is about 747.

In theory you can use thaiphoon burner and burn in a new set of profiles to run at the above profiles with most any two sticks, though very risky, and binning is variable. With how well your are binned they should do fine.

Looking at the profile for the sticks you got, they dont even have a profile for 2400, so I assume it impliments a system default? :https://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/HX432S20IB_16.pdf I would suggest taking them back and either exchanging for the ones I linked above, or these, which would save you money:https://www.amazon.com/Ballistix-Sp...06XRBTSTZ/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

HP will not care about your overclocking needs at all. Throttlestop tutorial is available at http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/the-throttlestop-guide.531329/

I have a thread dedicated to this laptop's driver at http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/hp-spectre-15-ch000-x360-i7-8705g-vega-m-gl-drivers.826827/

Modified BIOS for such a unpopular laptop is pretty much impossible.
