Haggling price with Alienware

    has anyone tried to haggle price with them and had success? my build is a bit over my budget.

    someone asked the same question in a previous thread.. it was concluded that you have a better chance seeing the dark side of the moon than haggling the price of their laptop like in garage sale..

    but try it if you want and if you manage to, more power to you!

    best bet is buy with quidco for 3% off. I had more luck platting fog than getting a discount from Alienware

    I did inform by telephone about the coupon thingy but the rep told me there where "no discounts at the moment maybe in the future" :D :D

    Probably never...when they discount they don't quite discount. They lower the price when school starts, maybe sometimes in the winter and that would be it.

    only 5% student discount i guess.
    so if you spend $3500 you save $175

    karnewest, they will release a $1499 model of that soon. If the $2150 base is too much, downgrade maybe the processor one, and a few things and save a few hundred bucks.

    with the 5 % student discount I'm right within my budget. Now if only they would send the the confirmation email....
