I want a gun for protection and for fun. I don't live in a bad neighborhood or anything but it is always nice to know you have some back up in case you can't contact the police. I also like shooting rifles for fun.

Same with me. I mainly have my pistols for self defense/protection, although they're certainly fun to shoot too. As for the rifles, I mostly have them because they're just fun to shoot. I only wish I had an opportunity to shoot my rifles more often, but where I live there are no rifle shooting ranges and I don't know anyone with a large field where it would be safe to shoot. :(

Yeah, I can see that. I have always wanted to shoot a gun, just for the experience of it. I keep forgetting that's guns don't kill people, people do. But I don't want to sound like a NRA spokesperson or anything...when you guys are around (or have kids), make sure those the guns are locked away!

Yeah, every six months the NSW Police come to our house and make sure our firearms are secured in a locker bolted to the ground, with our ammunition in a separately locked partition. Guns laws here are really strict, and considering we've only had one guy go nuts with a gun, and he was using guns that were even illegal way back in 90-something. I would have loved a semi auto .222 for Kangaroo shooting.

Before gun law's came in, in Australia, i was out shooting with my brothers, each of us had a semi auto .22 with 10 rounds each (thier we're 3 of us), we all unloaded the whole clip into a big red kangaroo that was about 20 metres away (everything hit, could see the blood) The kangaroo bounced off like nothing had happened, big red kangaroo's are strong mfkers!!!
