For fun considering the debacles. Have a thread on the front page. Discuss your overclock, which laptop you're using, temps and performance gains etc.

    200/250 for me, Crysis 3 @ 71C on a Clevo P770ZM.

My 980M arrived vBIOS blocked. Using PREMA's mod. I have suspicion the vBIOS locked may not have as much overhead as the previous? Don't know until others post their results.

I haven't overclocked my 980m yet, i don't think i can on the new alienware 17, its locked out i think( haven't researched it yet). But if i can, ill clock this thing to death like I did in the 860m thread :)

narrowed it down to somewhere between +300 and +350 Mhz on core, still fine-tuning...

That's crazy! I'm stuck at +125/+110 on stock voltage if I want it to be completely stable in Unigine Valley - bah, what a lemon I have!

thats with overvolting, of course :) at stock voltage my stable core clock is somewhere in the range of 150 - 200 Mhz... stability testing with 60 min. unigine valley at max. settings and resolution (2880x1620)

For a 180W PSU, the maximum limit I should be aiming to stay under should be 210W on the power monitor, due to the 85% efficiency rating of the PSU - correct?

    Correct.

I ran my cards at 1266/1500 , we will see if the power mod helps. If it does I may go for 1333/1600.

in your opinion, what would be the ceiling for a long term overvolt on the 980M? been playing around with mine lately and it seems like +100mV or +112.5mV is the sweet spot when it comes to max. stable clocks. above that and i actually get less stable at identical clocks, probably cuz the card just cant get the power to the core that it needs :p
