    Hi,
    I have a similar problem. I own a 8770w + 3840qm + K4000m + 176C (U3E1) / KBC Version 50.1A motherboard. I bought a new K5100m and, after installing it, i get a black screen.

    Please help!

    Many thanks in advance!

You have HP vBios on the card - it won't work with 8770W.
You need to reflash it with Dell's vBios.

Hi Mirage! Thanks for the prompt reply.

    However I'm too ignorant, maybe.
So, if I understood correctly, I have to flash the card itself? How? If my laptop doesn't accept it?
Which Dell's vBIOS. I read about it before, but I couldn't find it neither how to used it.

    Hello again, Mirage!

Thanks! Do you know a cheap mxm with intel graphics laptop, so I can do it?

Hm...not really...they are not very common, but don’t you have any friend who has one and can help you out with this?

Where did you buy it from?
Can’t you ask the seller to do it for you?
Do you have some PC store near your place where they sell second hand laptops?
The best way for you is to find any Alienware laptop (with mxm-b slot) or dell M6600/M6700.
You need 17” laptop as the smaller size doesn’t offer mxm-b, but mxm-a which in your case is not a way to go...
