Hi, I have followed all the steps advice but still no display but if I put the original k4000m back it works fine. I am so confused lol

I contacted the seller and he said he tested the card on an HP EliteBook and it was working fine.

I not sure on the next steps is there anything I need to change in the bios setting or drivers before installing the actual card in.

I've previously upgraded to the K5100m and it was working fine all I did was mod the inf file and voila.

I got another card in my m17x R4 ( gtx 675) I will try it into the HP 8770w to see if it works.

Will keep you updated. If you find anything that might please do let me know.

    Cheers mate

Ok, the only step needs do be done is to pull the card out of the HP EliteBook and to put it in another notebook with MXM slot (m17x R4 in your case) to be sure the card is still alive and working.
Depending on that result, I will have more clearness about what to do next.

Hi, I've put the card 980m in the Alienware M17 and turn it on. I got the 8beeps sound code which doesn't stop unless I turn off the machine. still no display

Do you think it's a faulty card or its something to do with Vbios maybe?

    Thanks

    Yes, the card is faulty:(
It’s not a problem with the vBios, it’s the card itself..
You have to speak again with the seller about returning the card, although it’s questionable if he will accept it back..
    Sorry, mate..:(

Ok, I will get in touch with the seller again to request a refund or a replacement and return the defective faulty card.

The seller has been very helpful in the past bought quite a few parts from him and is happy to accept the card back.

I will let you know what happens

    Thanks

    Hello,

Please, can you advise if the below card is ok to buy for my Hp EliteBook 8770w? I have returned the faulty one but now need to buy a new one that works.

I forgot to mention that I install a Gtx 675m in the Hp laptop and it works fine so I think the 980m was definitely faulty.

    Though I let know

    Regards

Yes, this one is Clevo card (previous one was Dell card), should work on your 8770W without any hassles. Go ahead and buy it, just don’t forget to remove the Clevo’s X-Bracket and use your original one from HP’s Quadro.
Also tomorrow will send you pics for how to properly arrange the thermal pads on the new 980m.
