eDP is like for those newer 4K panels or 120Hz panels, its a 1005 digital dispaly and it would force you into UEFI mode, and you wouldn;t have HD intel graphics at all because they have a legacy/analogue boot loader thus work to load analogue panels only like LVDS which is standard on ALL M18X-R2 and is a fixed display panel, as unlike the 17 series lineups with the extra eDP option - those laptops had TWO different connectors inside underneath the keyboard on the chassis, one for eDP which screwed in very neatly and securely and the usual LVDS cable connector for the traditional non-3D/60hz versions.

Check to see which version of the INTEL HD driver you have, and see if that one supports Pascal in the notes. (Might be any past November last year work - but when i was checking they never installed)

Hey guys can we get a DYI for this? Ie how do the drivers have to be modded? How and what mode to place the BIOS in? Mods for heasink required?

    Is this a stable mod?

Can you perfrom a cold boot with out having to run down a checklist of settings to set every time you turn it on/off????

    Here's a post with some info: http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...tly-with-gtx-1060.804052/page-3#post-10528127

You need the unlocked BIOS: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/release-improved-m18x-r2-maxwell-legacy-bios.800447/

Set the video mode to SG

    Heatsink needs to be grinded

After that all you need is some modified drivers and it'll be good to go. 1070 should be installed almost the exact same way.

Here are pics of our standard MXM3 82x105mm GTX 1060 and 1070 cards that fit into MXM 3.0b based laptops. In order to run GTX 10 series you either need to have Optimus based laptop or eDP LCD panel. Check our website UPGRADE section for more details.

I would hold off, Eeposaurus is doing testing with the GTX 1080 and we may have a better solution on our hands.

We need to contact ASrock and see if they would be willing to sell us the GPUs on their own.

That's one hell of graet news, I kept my AW18 (max) and didn't want to sell it hoping that GTX1080m is on the horizon.

Many thanks for the good news.
