I've recently ordered a msi gt75vr titan pro to replace my aging desktop. I was using the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO, 250 ohms headphones with a mod mic 4.0 attached to them. I really love these headphones and the mod mic and I'd hate to have to replace them.

My question is whether the new laptop will be able to drive these 250 ohm headphones. I might have to buy the 32 ohm version and pair it with a mod mic 5.0. Anywho...I'd love to hear what you all think and if I should go ahead and buy the new headphones with the mod mic 5.0.

CM238 chipset version has the Hifi Dac.
    HM175 chipset version does NOT
Make sure you verify the chipset, as there may be HM175 chipsets coming with the 7820HK CPU as well.

    You ask them.
OR you post the exact model name and number (they usually have a code at the end, like Titan-238, or Titan 866).

    Custom Built MSI GT75VR 7RF Titan Pro-202 17.3" w/ G-Sync VIDIA GeForce GTX 1080

It shows 202 on the end. What does that signify?

250 Ohms isn't that high. The onboard sound should be able to drive them just fine.

202 is CM238 chipset. You're good to go.

This is the info I've been looking for sorry to revive my own thread but this could also answer other people's questions about the audio capabilities of the audio chipset/hardware in this laptop.

I just realized I accidentally posted this in one of my other threads... tapatalk won't let me edit it or I just didn't see the option for it. Anywho, still good info about the audio chipset and dac and all that jazz. I am even more confident that my DT 770 pro 250 ohm headphones will be good to go with this laptop. Cudos to MSI for putting damn near everything in this laptop.
