Just wondering what the word is on trading up from a GT73VR 7RE w 7820HK and 1070GTX w 16GB DDR4 and 1 TB HD, I have since upgraded to 960 Evo for OS and replaced the 1 TB with a 1 TB Hybrid SHD. I never even used the original factory 1TB since receiving.

I have had the unit now 1 year and have given thought to trading in on an 8 series but wonder if it is really worth it or wait until the 11 series and do then. Still have approximately 14 mths warranty remaining

They promised 2 generations of GPU so I don't think the warranty will matter.

I would personally wait for the 11 series. The CPU bump is really nice and helps all around but unless you need the extra CPU power, a CPU+GPU upgrade would be ideal.

There is no trade in program for the GT73VR 7RE.

So how soon after the next gpu is announced do you think it will take them to put together the next upgrade plan?

The trade in program was for 2 generations, but I believe you can only do it once, so if you have already traded up, that is it.

It would be best to contact MSI directly to confirm.

This is straight from the first post. Which is the way i always understood it to be.

    Hi Scott,

If you decide to opt in for the 1st gen upgrade, you will still be able to upgrade for 2nd gen.

yeah as mentioned above I believe there is a second upgrade. I think with what I currently have it is just smarter to wait for 11 series over just a cpu bump
