They are different model #s. On the box label from MSI it's a different revision, lists the 1070 GPU, and has a different heatsink. As far as other bios, ec, or motherboard changes I am not sure.

It looks like the heat sink used in the Eurcom P870DM 1070 upgrade is the same one that the laptop came with... does the 1070 upgrade get a new heatsink/cooling parts?

Actually no. I talked to xotic and before I told their sales manager about msi's offered prices he didn't even know they sent us prices. This shows msi has NOT been working closely with their resellers...

If I worked for MSI, I'd be so embarrassed right now. :/

Such a rubbish respose, when I bought my GT72 they had "Upgradability " plasted all over their web site, I even watched several MSI videos online showing how to upgrade your own cards, some of the videos were directly from MSI.
" No such program and prmoise ever happened in Aus/NZ."
I would have never bought this laptop if I didn't think I could buy a MXM card and upgrade myself, and the one liner response is no way to treat customers, Wayne did not even bother to check the one line response. What the f is "prmoise". DH.

MSI have obvisously admitted to stuffing this one up, but to not offer the upgrade option accross all markets is just poor form.
Regardless of the country the laptop was purchased in, it is still worth less because of this debacle.
Over it, think I will burn my MSI in hellish fire and never mention thier name again.
