I have a question for Gram 17 owners. Am thinking about getting one, and have a question about performance -- specifically on battery. My primary use of laptop is writing software, then compiling. Writing doesn't take much juice, but compiling does -- however just for a few seconds at a time though. So no long term heat issues as in gaming.

Last fall, I got an Aero 17 w/9750H, and have been disappointed by how poorly it works on battery. (In effect, is a 15 watt TDP CPU, not 45 watt due to non-thermal throttling.) I have spent months trying to get a few seconds of power out of it with all the settings, etc. but nothing consistent.

So I am wondering if, for my battery-based use if Gram 17 might work out OK. I can get one at CostCo with great return privilege, so relatively risk free.

Any thoughts from G17 owners on battery performance?

    Thanks!!!!!

The Gram 17 has an actual 15W CPU, so it's probably going to perform like one whether on battery or plugged in.
