As we all know heatsink modules differ from AMD to NVIDIA.

I`m interesting does the NVIDIA chip is thicker on ~1mm comparing it with AMD chip, am I correct? Or it is not always a "rule-of-thumb"?

For example, 6770M or M4000 comparing with GTS250M.

As far as I've played around with chips, they're pretty much the same height usually. Differences in heatsink height have to do a lot with the other chips on the card, type of screws used, stuff like that.

It's more due to the package the chip is on rather than the silicon itself.
